Those of us who are old enough to remember the ‘60’s … and I dare say that would be most, if not all, of us … will remember a book that was authored by a fellow named Laurence J. Peter. When it was first published, it raised a storm because many did not want to accept that they existed at their level of incompetence. With that as a brief introduction and memory tickler, let us take a look at what the Peter Principle is exactly.
In the Oxford Languages Dictionary, the Peter Principle is defined as: … the principle that members of a hierarchy are promoted until they reach the level at which they are no longer competent.
Now, watching the current Administration’s bumbling and fumbling, it is reasonable to conclude that there is at least one person or perhaps even two or more that have now achieved synergy with the definition of the Peter Principle. As we scan the “battlefield” for any or all of these players, we are drawn to the Top Dog, the Big Kahuna, the Big Cheese, El Supremo … THE BIG GUY – himself, Joe Biden. One might ask “How do we know this?” Well, a look at a life spent in the United States Senate as a mediocre politician who moved on to the Office of the Vice President of the United States and then President … will tell us all we need to know.
So, let’s begin our journey at the University of Delaware in 1965, where Biden earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Delaware, with a double major in history and political science and a minor in English.
He had a "C" average overall for his four years, graduating with a class rank of 506 out of 688. It appears that Joey … he calls himself “Joey” in association with this period of his life, so we will take poetic license to do the same … Joey does not appear to be off to a very auspicious start. Just a side note --- graduation from university in 1965 --- How is it that Joey managed to avoid the draft at the very height of the war in Vietnam?
After all, he often tells stories about his athletic achievements in school.
So, for the lame excuse of childhood asthma, Joey is deemed to be unfit to serve in the US Military and he goes on to Law School at Syracuse University. After a number of fits and starts, Joey finishes Law School at a school ranked 106th in the nation. After a short time as a local politician in 1972, he is elected to the United States Senate as junior Senator from Delaware. He is an obscure politician looking to make his bones … so in 1988, he makes a run for the Democrat nomination for President. While in New Hampshire, he is engaged by a voter who comments on his lackluster accomplishments as a Senator. AND in typical Biden style, he makes a number of claims regarding his academic achievements.
Biden is quoted in PolitiFact as saying: "I went to law school on a full academic scholarship, the only one in my class who had a full academic scholarship," Biden said. "The first year in law school, I decided I didn’t want to be in law school and ended up in the bottom two-thirds of my class. And then decided I wanted to stay, went back to law school and, in fact, ended up in the top half of my class." Biden also claimed he "graduated with three degrees from undergraduate school." Nice … until we learn the truth.
Biden graduated from Syracuse University’s law school in 1968, but not in the top half of his class … in fact he graduated 76th of 85 students in his law school class. He also did not receive three undergraduate degrees. And, according to a September 1987 Newsweek report, Biden didn’t attend law school on a full academic scholarship, either.
In a statement published in response to the Newsweek story, and covered by the New York Times, Biden said his "recollection of this was inaccurate.'' RIGHT … sure it was!
His record as a plagiarizer, stealing good ideas from others and claiming them as his own, is clear and unequivocal. Joe Biden has plagiarized from speeches, essays, and policy positions throughout his entire life. As a student at Syracuse Law School in 1965, Biden plagiarized five pages from a law review journal "without quotation or attribution." During his failed 1988 presidential campaign, Biden plagiarized from speeches by British politician Neil Kinnock, Robert Kennedy, and President John F. Kennedy.
His ability to make up a story on the spot is also well known. It was just this week that we learned that Joe Biden was raised by Puerto Rican folks at his home in Delaware. He has driven a big rig, attended schul more often than the Jews he claims to know as he told a Jewish organization a few weeks ago. And we cannot forget his tough guy mantra – I took on Corn Pop and beat him. Most recently, he has been observed walking around lost and calling on people to stand who have no legs and calling for dead people to join him in the hall --- these behaviors have now been added to his list of demonstrative fails.
So, in 2008, Joe Biden is plucked from a relatively obscure run as a politician to be the Vice President for Barack Obama. On reflection, it is clear why Obama selected Joe as his running mate --- he made Obama look better than he was. We could go on detailing the foibles and failures of Biden’s job as the Vice President. Selling access through his son, intimidating leaders of foreign governments to do his bidding or else … the list is too long to reiterate here. But we can sum it all up recalling the statement that was made by Barack Obama, who was reportedly speaking with a Democrat and expressing his private doubts about Joe Biden becoming the Democrat presidential nominee in 2020. According to Politico and CBS News, the former president said: "Don't underestimate Joe's ability to f... things up." I don’t often agree with Obama – but you have to say he nailed that one!
When he wrote his book in 1969, I am sure Peter never imagined his theory would be put to practice in the election of a President of the United States --- and yet here we are! There can be no doubt that this man, Joe Biden, has fulfilled … the principle that members of a hierarchy are promoted until they reach the level at which they are no longer competent.
It is up to all of us to put an end to this incompetent Presidency. In 2022, it can only be accomplished by electing Congressional Representatives and Senators that have the political courage to cut the never-ending spending. Almost everything that this man has cocked up has its roots in money. For the first time in the country’s history, we have surpassed $31 trillion gross federal debt. Congress controls the “Purse Strings” – Congress is the only branch of government that can stop the mayhem.
The task now falls to us --- we need to ensure that we are voting for the candidates that can bring about the change that is needed across America. If we keep electing Democrats and their radical agenda, it will be impossible to stop this “Peter Principled” President for the next two years. When it’s finally over, it may be too late for the Republic.
Your Conservative vote counts --- make sure you use it!
