In Joe Biden’s America, it appears that drugs are an important part of life. Must be so because Joe just approved a $30 Million grant program for non-profits to buy crack pipes.
That’s right! You read it correctly --- the US Government, YOUR US Government is going to hand out crack pipes to ensure America’s junkies have access to this drug paraphernalia --- this is what Joe Biden calls “equity.”
And just where will these activities take place? Well, the Department of Justice has announced that it will provide “safe spaces” where drug users can gather and shoot up! Monique Beals, reporting for THE HILL yesterday, said: “The Justice Department said it is “evaluating” the potential use of safe injection sites for people to take heroin and other narcotics with protections against fatal overdoses.”
In my own State of Maryland, a lawmaker has unveiled a bill to place a cannabis legalization ballot measure before the state’s voters this year. The legislation, House Bill 1, was pre-filed by Democrat Delegate Luke Clippinger and it was to be introduced when the Maryland General Assembly convened last January 12, 2022. And why not, after all, the recreational use of cannabis is legalized in 18 states, the District of Columbia, the Northern Mariana Islands, and Guam. Another 13 states and the U.S. Virgin Islands have decriminalized its use. This despite the fact that the use, sale, and possession of cannabis over 0.3% THC in the United States is ILLEGAL UNDER FEDERAL LAW.
So, let’s have a quick review --- Joe and his crew are handing out crack pipes. Merrick and his merry band of lawyers are going to run safe spaces for junkies to gather and shoot up. Thirty-one (31) of the 50 states have already made marijuana legal or have decriminalized it. But, THE LAW … yes, I dare say THE LAW, as passed by Congress, makes all of this illegal. No matter … it’s being done by the Dems, so it’s OK! (Sarcasm Alert!)
While all of this is going on in the Nation’s Capital … down south at the border, the drug dealers are pumping more fentanyl into the US than ever before. Most recently, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) released a report with the headline: CBP Officers at South Texas Ports of Entry Post Significant Increases in Fentanyl, Cocaine Seized in FY 2021, Release Date: January 5, 2022 … “During FY 2021, CBP officers at the eight ports of entry extending from Brownsville to Del Rio that comprise the Laredo Field Office seized 87,652 pounds of narcotics that would have commanded a combined estimated street value of $786 million. Specifically, they seized 41,713 pounds of marijuana; 8,592 pounds of cocaine, up 98 percent from FY 20; 33,777 pounds of methamphetamine; 1,215 pounds of heroin, 588 pounds of fentanyl, up 1,066 percent from FY 2020, $10.4 million in unreported currency, 463 weapons, up 21 percent from FY 2020 and 84,863 rounds of ammunition.”
Now, let’s keep in mind that this is the “stuff” they seized … no one has accurate figures on what went undetected as it crossed the southern border … assuming an equal amount OR MORE went undetected … well, that is plenty of stuff to get the Washington crowd excited --- more drugs for those low-income communities to acquire so that Joe and the boys can demonstrate their sincere desire to make life equitable.
It is important to note that the CBP seized 588 POUNDS of fentanyl. That is enough fentanyl to KILL every man, woman and child in the lower 48 states. It is being combined with other drugs and it is killing Americans, about 100,000 Americans at last count. For perspective, that is double the number of service members lost in the Vietnam War.
This brings us to the question asked in the beginning --- WHY DO WE NEED THE DRUG ENFORCEMENT AGENCY? With a budget exceeding $3 Billion, DEA employs 10,169 people, including 4,924 Special Agents and 800 Intelligence Analysts. And, it is increasingly clear that these folks, well intentioned as they might be, are not doing their job --- DRUG ENFORCEMENT!
DEA has 800 Intelligence Analysts --- who can now simply get a printout from the DOJ as to where all the safe spaces are --- very intelligent! As for the remaining 15,000 or so DEA employees --- I’m sure they can get work handing out those crack pipes, courtesy of The President of the United States or perhaps they can transfer to the DOJ and organize those safe spaces --- making sure there are no sharp corners in case someone falls --- safety first! As for the rest of the employees --- there are always solar panels and windmills. Looks like a $3 Billion savings for the taxpayer.
This Administration must be held accountable for these programs. They are sanctioning the killing of Americans and the Congress just yawns. In the meantime --- one more time … TELL ME AGAIN – WHY DO WE NEED THE DRUG ENFORCEMENT AGENCY?
