Over the past almost 2 years now, we have listened to our government debate the pros and cons, mostly pros, about vaccine mandates and the need to implement a “Vaccine Passport” across America.
We all know that while Lord Fauci, Patron Saint of Wuhan …
… and his supplicants at the CDC debate the issue, Governors in what have been come to be defined as “Blue” states have not waited for the Lord Fauci to come to a definitive conclusion on the matter despite his numerous, dare I say, never ending appearances on the Sunday talk shows. With directions that look like the path of a rollercoaster at a theme park,
these Governors have taken it upon themselves to demand proof of vaccination from their citizens, even those as young at 5 years old. So, we know that before entering a restaurant or theater in New York City you must first …
– SHOW ME YOUR PAPERS!
Very authoritarian, perhaps even reminiscent of 1930’s Germany – perhaps! But wait now, it’s getting even more draconian. Here is the headline in the Daily Mail.com: “500 school districts across the US are using 'cultural competency' screening for teachers about their political beliefs, how they incorporate 'gender diversity' and what they've done 'to be more anti-racist' … I think we need to unpack this because this is not merely Germany in the 1930’s – this is full blown Nazi Germany … FULL STOP!
The article goes on to tell us: “The controversial hiring practice, which is being used in more than 500 districts across the US, asks applicants how they would incorporate race and gender into their daily lessons and about what they have done to combat racism in their personal and professional lives.
A recent report from Ed Week detailed how US school districts are screening teachers' racial biases during the hiring process through these 'cultural competency' questions. Although the method is primarily used to promote inclusion and diversity, some districts, like the Shaw Elementary School, in Boston, have gone beyond the norm and asked questions like, 'What have you done personally or professionally to be more anti-racist?’”
It would seem that the very premise of the question assumes that the applicant is already a racist since it challenges the interviewee’s efforts to be more anti-racist! Samuel Goldman, a writer for The Week, criticized the relevance of these types of questions for a teaching position and said, 'They're making progressive political views a requirement for the job.' So, this is clearly more than parents pushing back on CRT in the classroom – the issue is much broader than that and it appears to be accelerating across the country. Goldman also criticized how some of the teachers’ answers are filtered through Nimble, a teacher-hiring software company working with about 500 school districts across the nation.
'It's bad enough for principals or hiring managers to pry into applicants' opinions on matters irrelevant to classroom content and conduct. It's even worse when they rely on proprietary, woke AI (artificial intelligence) to do the job for them.' Among the school administrators asking these questions is Shaw Elementary School Principal Ashley Davis, who pries into teachers’ personal and professional commitments to anti-racism. The school also asks teachers how they 'ensure that the values of diversity and cultural awareness are reflected in their practice.' We should note here that Shaw Elementary School was named for Pauline Agassiz Shaw (1841-1917) who is credited for institutionalizing Kindergartens in Boston. Interestingly, she deeply believed that it was important for schools to provide students with a well-rounded education:
"The whole boy should be sent to school and not part of him; it is not enough to train the intellect alone ... but the eye and the hand are together the most trustworthy leaders of the brain; the eye must no longer say to the hand 'we have no need of thee.”
I don’t believe that she would approve of the current principles litmus test for hiring new teachers. Even in my own county of Montgomery in the State of Maryland --- “Similar questions are asked in the Montgomery County Public School District, in Maryland, where teaching applicants are asked how they would incorporate race, gender and cultural diversities of students into their daily instruction plan.” Not a lot about math, science and English – only the matter of indoctrination.
So, what is next America? --- Will there be racial purity tests? --- How about tests to demonstrate that conservative teachers are racially inferior to those dedicated to the cause?
This is a very bad course that America is set on. We have seen this before and it did not end well. The quest now becomes whether we are willing to stop it from happening again. Never mind those who say IT CAN’T HAPPEN AGAIN - Because IT CAN, and IT WILL happen again!
The Holocaust - NEVER AGAIN! ... but then there are THE KILLING FIELDS of Cambodia ... oh the inhumanity we cannot allow that ever again --- but then we have Rwanda – genocide on a monumental scale … and the list goes on …
… so you see it can happen again because man must learn from the past – and when the past is erased because rather than teach history in our schools, we chose to teach gender identity … the groundwork is laid for it to happen again and again.
Let’s make it simple! There are two genders: MALE and FEMALE
--- that is the science! Now get off this other nonsense and get back to teaching what’s important to our students – let the teacher’s political beliefs be his or her own. The alternative of SHOW ME YOUR PAPERS is UNACCEPTABLE!
