Throughout the history of man, there have always been people who have been persecuted and those who have been the administrators of that persecution. Most who read this will recall religious persecution and we will examine that type of persecution. However, it should be understood that there have been other types of persecutions throughout history, and these include:
· assassination,
· torture,
· violence including sexual violence,
· arbitrary arrest,
· false imprisonment, and
· serious and ongoing forms of discrimination.
Now, it should be clear to all that persecutions can focus on race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group, and political opinion.
Looking back through history, we can cite the time that the Jews spent in Egypt as slaves. It is easy to see the persecution that took place for some 350 years and that was not solved until Moses led the Jews to the Land of Milk and Honey!
We can certainly understand the persecution of Jesus … spreading a message that was directly in conflict with the Roman rulers and the political elite of the Sanhedrin. And who can forget the all time favorite persecution of the early Christians being fed to the lions.
The Crusades in the Holy Land gave European Christians the opportunity to persecute Muslims. The Muslims returned the favor by persecuting Christians and ultimately conquered Christan Spain!
As we advance our historical review to the 1400’s, we can see the actions of the Spanish Inquisition. The Inquisitions focused on the Jews, but Muslims were persecuted as well. But because the Spanish Inquisition was far-reaching, the number of executions is debated among historians. Some historians believe the number to be in the hundreds-of-thousands, some in the millions, and some as low as 1,500.
We can fast forward through what can be described as modern history and we find some of the largest persecutions include the Holocaust during World War II, the Armenian Genocide, the Rwandan Genocide, and the Soviet Great Purge under Stalin. Each of these events involved targeted and systematic oppression, violence, and mass killings.
Moving forward to 2016 in America, one remembers that we all witnessed the unpredicted win of Donald Trump to the Office of the President of the United States. With this win, there began a movement in Democrat factions that has been aimed at destroying the man and the financial empire that he built. We start with “Russia, Russia, Russia” and continue on through two specious impeachments and numerous attacks regarding the Emoluments clause of the US Constitution. In 2020, Trump lost his bid for re-election. We will not recount the results of a questionable election or even the sad events of January 6, 2021. But for asking a question of a state official in the State of Georgia, Trump and ten co-defendants face allegations of racketeering and a Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) trial. The intent of this prosecution is simple – Get Trump. Persecution in the 21st Century!
Currently, the main attraction in the “Get Trump” movement focuses on the case brought by New York State Attorney General Letisha James.
The crime – inflating the value of his properties for the purpose of obtaining a better interest rate on bank loans. Despite the obvious fact that the banks who made the loans … which were repaid on time with interest … testified that they were not victimized by Trump’s organization, the Judge decided otherwise and imposed a fine of nearly half a billion dollars, in cash, on Trump. Man, talk about a persecution! The kicker is that Trump cannot appeal this outrageous finding until he posts a bond in the full amount of the fine. Even the billionaire Mark Cuban, who is no friend of Trump, said that “no one has that much cash on hand no matter how wealthy they are.”
So, we arrive at March 2024, and we find Letisha James gloating on social media how she is going to confiscate Trump’s assets if he cannot post a bond. The news tells us that he does not have the cash and no surety company will take the risk of working with him. If they do, they could find themselves being charged with a crime by this lawless AG.
Like Trump or not, I believe that most Americans are watching this and wondering if where they live is still America. The Dems fear that they may not be able to beat Trump at the ballot box and therefore, the AG’s actions are part of a calculated effort to take him off the field of play by bankrupting him, seizing his company, and depriving him of the wealth that he has accumulated as a legitimate businessman.
The actions of the AG of the State of New York have placed America squarely in the category of “Communist Regime.” The confiscation of property through the application of exorbitant fines was one of the dangers foreseen by the drafters of the US Constitution. Therefore, they included protection from this danger in the Bill of Rights as the Eighth Amendment of the United States Constitution, which deals with excessive bail, fines, and cruel and unusual punishment.
The actions being undertaken in New York and Georgia should be enough to turn one’s stomach. Even if you don’t like Trump, you must know that the laws have been perverted to persecute and prosecute this one man. But once perverted, a precedent is established and the same perverted laws can be used to come after others. Others … perhaps even you!
These actions are un-American and we must change the paradigm in November. It’s not the Spanish Inquisition or the Holocaust or the Killing Fields of Cambodia, but it is persecution nonetheless. The means of persecution are different, but the outcome is intended to be the same as breaking someone on the rack. Every American, regardless of party, should be outraged.
Vote like your life, liberty and freedom depend on it! Because your life, liberty and freedom … and that of America … do depend on the outcome of the 2024 election.
